1. About these terms

2. General information, not advice

Posts and calculators explain published rules in general terms. They are not financial, tax, legal or immigration advice and do not take your personal circumstances into account. Before you act, check the figures with the relevant authority, such as HMRC, Revenue, your airline or the national enforcement body, or with a qualified adviser.

Each post and calculator shows the date its sources were checked. Rules change, and announced changes may not become law in the form announced.

3. Calculators

Calculators give estimates from the rules listed under each one. They leave out some reliefs, credits and special cases, which are listed on each page. Your payslip, tax bill or claim outcome can differ.

4. Independence

DaddyNote is an independent blog. It is not connected to, endorsed by or acting for any government department, tax authority, aviation authority or EU institution, and it does not make applications or claims on anyone's behalf. We do not recommend or link to commercial providers such as lenders, insurers, energy suppliers or claims companies.

We link to government and EU pages so you can check the source. We are not responsible for the content of external sites.

Text, tables and calculators on this site belong to the operator unless stated otherwise. You may link to any page and quote short extracts with a link back. Copying whole posts needs permission. Figures and rules taken from government sources remain subject to those sources' own terms.
